Google Home should be a lot better (or just be free)

When I load Google Home on my desktop browser I just get this loading animation... for a very long time.

I have a very good internet connection!

So why is it that Google Home, a service I pay $200 a year for, is so terrible? Google OWNS YouTube and videos load perfectly fine. I have YouTube Premium but I imagine YouTube is able to load ads without any problem.

It seems like Google Home is one of the best examples of enshittification. I used to have service through Dropcam back in the day when Tony Fadell ran things. It was a solid service. It wasn't a constant test of patience just to load videos.

I know security video may not be as sexy as vibecoding the latest hot app with Gemini or generating slop articles but I'd really love for someone at Google to understand how frustrating using Google Home is. The whole point of a service like Google Home is being able to review things immediately while the question about what just happened is fresh in my mind.
